The whole soundtrack holds true to the movie - inspiring and great if you're girlfriend is with you, a disappointment if you're looking for upbeat a**-kicking music. Survivor (the first track) is the best name I found. One would think such a well-known movie would have a lot of hit songs/artists in it. Not so this time, I'm afraid. The last track (You're The Best) from Joe Eposito (NOT Esposito) is the cheesiest song on the album, but also the best reason to buy it, with it's inspirational beat.
Wanted to let everyone know that the song, "The Ride," missing form the first Karate Kid soundtrack for 25 years will finally be available on Amazon.com mid to late April '09. It'll be available as a single or part of a 5 tune EP released by Matches for the 25th Anniversary of Karate Kid.
When I put in this soundtrack it takes me back to my teenage years. Its's good to visit the past every so often. :0)
This is a superb CD, great music, great feel. Cheers,BrendaThe Karate Kid (1985 film)
When I listen to "Best Around" I have the power to take on anything. This disk brings tears to my eyes everything I listen to it. Well worth it - everyone should have a copy of this disk.
